Fun bike tour through the city and out to Albufera national park. Friendly and knowledgeable guide Shakti. A memorable day. The electric bikes made it effortless. A planned comfort stop would have been good.

As we only had a short stay in Valencia, we wanted to see as much of the city as possible. The Bike Tour therefore was the best choice we could’ve made!
Our tourguide Louis handled the group very well, answering every question we had and taking care of every member of the group. As he was able to speak German, English and Spanish, we felt very comfortable.
With this tour we were able to see every monument of the city! Would definitely recommend 😊

A very good choice, great e-bikes.

Luis did a wonderful job, and the photos he brought along to give an impression of the interior were great too. It's the best way to see a lot of a city in a short time, and it was really fun!!

Highly recommend this bike tour. Learned so much about the city and its history. We cycled through the city at a lovely pace stopped at the various buildings and key historic sites as well as the dry river bed park and its amazing stark white architecture. This bike company went over and above any other bike hire company we used before. 5 stars!

We rented bikes and joined one of their guided tours, and overall it was a great experience! From the start, the staff at the tent were very friendly and professional, they explained everything clearly, helped us choose the best option for two people, and answered all our questions with patience and a smile.
They offer several types of vehicles, including regular bikes, e-bikes, and electric scooters. It's a good idea to contact them a few days in advance to make sure your preferred model is available.
We also joined a bike tour, which was a really nice experience. At the time, they were offering two tours per day, one around 9:30 a.m. and another around 3:30 p.m. Our guide, Sara, was super friendly and attentive throughout the ride.
Unfortunately, someone in our group had a small accident because they weren't very confident on a bike, which affected the experience.
The tour lasts about 2.5 to 3 hours, which is good to know for planning your day. Prices vary depending on the type of bike and rental duration, and all the information is available both at their tent and on their website.
It's also great that you can reach them on WhatsApp for questions or reservations, no need to go there in person first.
Overall, I'd definitely recommend this company for their friendly service, fair prices, and fun tours.

Beyond Valencia Bike Tour FAQ

Most bike tours in Valencia stay around the historic center and major landmarks. This route goes beyond that – through El Cabanyal, along the Mediterranean coast, to Port Saplaya and local horchata spots that many visitors never reach.

Yes. The route is flat, relaxed and follows comfortable coastal bike paths with almost no traffic. No special cycling experience is needed.

Most of the route follows dedicated bike lanes and coastal cycling paths. This is one of the calmest and most relaxed bike rides in Valencia.

The tour lasts around 3.5 hours, depending on the pace of the group and the time spent at stops along the route.

The route includes El Cabanyal, Malvarrosa beach, Port Saplaya – Valencia’s Little Venice – quiet waterfront areas, local coastal neighborhoods and a traditional horchatería just outside the city. There are also smaller stops and hidden corners along the way that are not always announced in advance.

Yes. During the ride, we stop at a traditional horchatería outside the tourist center, where horchata is still made and served the local way with fresh fartons.

Definitely. Port Saplaya is one of the most unique places near Valencia – a quiet marina village with canals, colorful facades and a completely different atmosphere from the city center.

Comfortable clothes, sunscreen and a phone or camera for photos along the coast. Water, helmet and bike lock are included.

Beyond Valencia: Coastal Bike Ride to Port Saplaya

The Beyond Valencia Bike Tour takes you far beyond the historic center and into the quieter coastal side of the city. While most visitors stay around Valencia’s main attractions, this route explores neighborhoods and local traditions that many travelers never experience.

Starting in Ruzafa, you ride through areas where tourists rarely go — a fishing quarter filled with ceramic-tiled facades, a peaceful marina village by the sea, and a traditional horchatería just outside the city. In addition, the route follows relaxed coastal bike paths with almost no traffic.

One route. One unforgettable side of Valencia that most visitors never see. You can also discover more unique experiences on our Valencia bike tours page. Alternatively, if you prefer to explore independently, check our bike rental in Valencia.

El Cabanyal – Tiles, Fish, and Local Pride

El Cabanyal was a fishing village long before it became part of Valencia. As a result, the neighborhood still keeps its strong maritime identity. The streets are narrow, the houses are low, and almost every facade is covered in hand-painted ceramic tiles. In fact, no two buildings look exactly the same.

During the Beyond Valencia Bike Tour, you ride through streets that feel genuinely local and untouched by mass tourism. On weekend mornings, the market fills with fresh seafood from the Mediterranean. Meanwhile, nearby family tavernas continue serving the same bocadillo de jamón recipes they have prepared for decades.

In addition, small workshops producing traditional cerámica by hand are still hidden along the side streets. During the Fiesta de la Mare de Déu del Carme, the entire neighborhood comes alive with music, fireworks, and open-air dinners by the sea.

At the same time, the futuristic skyline of the City of Arts and Sciences appears in the distance. Consequently, the contrast between old and new becomes one of the most memorable parts of the ride.

Little Venice – Port Saplaya

North of Malvarrosa Beach, the atmosphere changes completely. Port Saplaya is a small marina village built around a quiet network of canals. Here, colourful facades reflect in still water while boats remain tied just outside front doors.

Locals often call it Valencia’s Little Venice. However, it feels far more peaceful than the name suggests. There are no large crowds, no souvenir shops, and almost no noise. Instead, you get calm waterfront views, soft Mediterranean light, and plenty of time to walk around and take photos.

One of the highlights of the Beyond Valencia Bike Tour is experiencing this slower coastal rhythm before heading back toward Valencia along the seafront promenade.

Horchata – Not the Tourist Version

No coastal ride around Valencia feels complete without horchata. This traditional drink is made from chufas, or tiger nuts, grown in the sandy soil north of the city.

During the Beyond Valencia Bike Tour, you stop at a traditional horchatería just outside Valencia. Here, the horchata is still prepared the traditional way and served ice cold with fresh fartons.

Unlike many tourist cafés in the city center, the flavor here feels authentic and homemade. Therefore, the stop offers a genuine taste of Valencian culture rather than a typical tourist experience.

What the Day Looks Like with Beyond Valencia Bike Tour

The tour starts in Ruzafa at 09:30 or 15:30. From there, the route follows quiet coastal bike paths beside the Mediterranean. Since the terrain is completely flat, the ride stays relaxed and suitable for almost any fitness level.

First, you explore El Cabanyal and its colorful seaside streets. Afterwards, the route continues north along the waterfront toward Port Saplaya. Later, you stop for traditional horchata before cycling back through the Turia Gardens.

The Beyond Valencia Bike Tour lasts approximately 3.5 hours at a relaxed pace. Above all, it offers a deeper and more authentic side of Valencia that most visitors never reach.
