My wife and I did the 7hr ebike tour to Albufeira with Shakti as our guide.
The bikes were great, Shakti was informative and good fun, the lunch was lovely and the boat ride on the lagoon was nice and relaxing. Great day all round and definitely recommended.

Although this tour is listed as a 5-star experience, our experience was considerably less impressive. The main issues were organisation, time management, communication and supervision of the group.
The meeting point is at the bike hire shop in Ruzafa, which is easy enough to find. They have a good range of bicycles in different sizes, including helmets, so there was plenty of choice to accommodate adults and children. Unfortunately, a family with two kids decided to feed their kids with pizza at 1530 which delayed our departure to 1545, and on setting off, the dad’s bicycle seats was not working properly, which caused an initial delay as it had to be changed.
The tour started around 15 minutes late, and it took too long to get everyone organised and actually set off. The guide was pleasant, but communication was sometimes difficult due to his accent and instructions were not always clearly articulated in English which improved as the trip progressed.
There were children in the group, and unfortunately the pace and supervision were not really suited to them. At one point a child fell off their bike, and the guide needed to be more aware of what was happening behind him rather than cycling well ahead of the slower members of the family. Better oversight and more frequent regrouping would have made the tour safer and more enjoyable.
The biggest problem was time management. The tour ended up taking more than three hours, roughly an hour longer than expected. As a result, we did not have enough time to properly explore the City of Arts and Sciences, which was one of the main highlights we were expecting from the tour. The information provided was adequate, but towards the end it felt increasingly rushed because of the delay.
We also stopped at a children’s playground, which was a nice idea for families, but given that we were already running significantly behind schedule, this stop could have been shortened or omitted. The children themselves also seemed to become bored during parts of the tour, suggesting that it may not be particularly well suited to younger children.
Overall, the tour covered the main sights and the guide was pleasant, and the bike hire shop itself was well equipped with bikes for all sizes and helmets. However, the late start, poor timekeeping, communication difficulties and insufficient attention to the slower members of the group significantly reduced the experience. It would be better suited to adults or confident cyclists than families with younger children.

We joined the Beyond Valencia Tour with Bikes & Tours Valencia and had a fantastic experience from start to finish.
As it turned out, my girlfriend and I were the only participants that day, which meant we essentially had a private tour with our guide, Ada. This made the experience especially personal and relaxed. The pace was perfect, giving us plenty of time to enjoy each stop without ever feeling rushed.
The tour itself was a great way to discover parts of Valencia beyond the historic city center. Cycling through El Cabanyal, along Malvarrosa Beach, and all the way to Port Saplaya offered a completely different perspective of the city and showed us places we probably would not have explored on our own.
One of the biggest advantages of being such a small group was the opportunity to ask questions throughout the tour and have genuine conversations. Ada was always happy to elaborate on topics that interested us, making the experience feel much more interactive than a typical guided tour.
We booked the tour in English and had no issues at all. Ada was knowledgeable, approachable, and struck exactly the right balance between sharing interesting information and allowing us to simply enjoy the ride. We learned a lot about Valencia, its history, and its local culture, but never felt overwhelmed with facts.
The bikes were in good condition, the route was well planned, and everything ran smoothly from beginning to end.
Overall, this was one of the highlights of our stay in Valencia. If you’re looking for a relaxed, informative, and authentic way to explore areas beyond the city center, I can highly recommend the Beyond Valencia Tour with Ada and Bike & Tours Valencia.

Amazing!!! Not just an ordinary bike tour- we came back from Albufera enlightened in the history, culture and biodiversity of the region!
Shakti was an amazing guide.. who took us off the beaten path (literally and metaphorically) sharing her knowledge of the wildlife, fauna, man-made impacts on the local ecology….and even paella recipes!!!

El Cabanyal – Tiles, Fish, and Local Pride
El Cabanyal was a fishing village long before it became part of Valencia. As a result, the neighborhood still keeps its strong maritime identity. The streets are narrow, the houses are low, and almost every facade is covered in hand-painted ceramic tiles. In fact, no two buildings look exactly the same.
During the Beyond Valencia Bike Tour, you ride through streets that feel genuinely local and untouched by mass tourism. On weekend mornings, the market fills with fresh seafood from the Mediterranean. Meanwhile, nearby family tavernas continue serving the same bocadillo de jamón recipes they have prepared for decades.
